Two Ways to Spend a Rainy Day

November 12, 2021 by J.B.

See how Cy and Dora spent a rainy Friday morning.

Speaking of Cy…this morning there was a large blanket under a door that I needed to close at breakfast time. Hydraulic doors can be closed securely with blankets in the way but then the blankets tend to get wet when we clean the floors. So we usually ask the chimps to help move the blankets out of the way, with mixed results. My first request was to Gordo, which I should have known would get me nowhere. Nothing but a blank stare from that guy. Then I asked Terry and Dora, but they were preoccupied at that moment, if you know what I mean. I could have gone to Lucky or Rayne next but at that point I knew who I had to call. Even though he was at the far end of the room, with a word Cy calmly walked the length of the front rooms and pulled the blankets out of the doorway for me. What a guy.

I’m tellin’ ya, everytime y’all post sbout Cy, he just exhibits yet another awesome personality trait. I think he’s absolutely fantastic!

And Miss Dora has got the raisin boards all figured out. That’s the second video I’ve seen recently of her being a whiz with the raisin boards. Adorable and smart, she has quickly won me over.

Aw, Cy helps you out, like Jo does! :orange_heart:
I was going to joke, after seeing the video 20 minutes ago, “note to self: in case of a scuffle, li’l Dora has your back only if there are no raisin boards around.” But now I see that she’d worked up an appetite.
Off to the pharmacy with you, JB! Happy Sunday

I love how Cy reads his magazines. It’s the funniest and most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. Almost as funny as Foxie and her dolls. She and Cy should get together!

,” if you know what I mean.” ? uh – no JB, I don’t know what you mean. Please elaborate!

Cy! He had me at Hello. The Charlton Heston of CSNW. Devilishly handsome nice guy. so cool that he knew what you needed and took care of it. What a good guy

aDORAble is captivating in this video. What a cutie pie! Videos from today and yesterday were so cute and fun. i’m still smiling.

Yay, JB, thanks for these wonderful videos and your comments! The image of Cy poking his face out the door with the magazine in his mouth and then turning around and going back inside just slayed me, really got a chuckle out of me! I love that he joins Jaime in his reading/magazine/book interests — maybe they should start a reading club! By “if you know what I mean” I assume, given what you’ve shared in the past about Terry’s amorous nature with the ladies, that there was something going on that we hope involves birth control (unless I’m being too dramatic about whatever it was going on!). I’m glad you eventually got the blankets and we got to share in your experience of the process.

Cy sounds like quite the helper, what a guy is right. I am assuming Cy wasn’t engaged in his reading when you asked for his help correct? Because I get this feeling that if he were reading his magazine he just might have blown you off. : ) His peek into the greenhouse was pretty funny.

Dora is so cute. Thanks for that close up on her face — I mean those eyelashes are too much.

Isn’t it just incredible Lucky’s group came to be with you?

I know right? What a great group! Just lovely and interesting and funny and smart and just so captivating! We are all so lucky to have lucky’s group!

    What a great story J.B.!
Maybe Cy and Honey B. could be on the cleaning schedule, for those times when there are n’t enough volunteeres…… I am sure they would be happy to help out!
And Cy with his magazine in his mouth, checking out the greenhouse and deciding it was NOT warm enough….priceless.

I can never get over the fact that the magazine he is “reading” is right side up and not upside down. And how amazing that he knew exactly what you wanted him to do and that he obeyed the request. Their intelligence makes it all the more sad what they went through in those medical labs that they were forced to live in with no enrichment and freedom.

Amazing that Cy knew exactly what you wanted! I am, always, so impressed with the chimps’, problem solving, abilities! Please tell me what is in today’s food puzzle? Honey? Great description, J.B.!
