Finding a theme for each day’s blog tends to really get to us after all the cleaning is done so by 1pm our minds are mostly just scattering to find good content. I don’t know if it’s the increasing heat that is expected to hit triple digits again during the next couple of days, but my brain did not cooperate to give me a magnificent story line for today. Because of this, I took the liberty of introducing photo dumps to the blog. These have been increasing in popularity on different social media forums, where people gather sometimes random or not so random photos, and cluster them into one single post with a caption as simple as “Photo dump” and maybe some random emoji to match the theme…if there is any. Usually, there is no specific sequence of events for these and they end up being a series of good photos that are otherwise using up space in the phone or camera memory and that should not go to waste. From selfies to scenic photos, they can include just about anything. I would love to spam all of you the million selfies I have unashamedly taken over the past months that have yet to see the light of day, but I’m hoping some chimp and bovine photos would suffice.

Negra’s morning nest
Rayne LOVED the movie tickets enrichment that they got today in the Mezzanine. I later saw her tangled in the tickets while unraveling more, sadly I was not able to capture the moment. But just imagine her laying down covered in movie tickets like a bride-to-be in her bachelorette party with a dress made of toilet paper, or a TP mummy, whatever is easier for you. It was just great.
I later saw Rayne nesting with the remains of the ticket stubs she was tangled in

And then we have here a handsome Nutmeg

Love the photo dump! Thank you so much.

Hooray for the photo dump! I vote for more of them. I love _all_ of the pictures you all share, whether or not they have a caption or a theme.
(I also vote for continuing the Punny Titles. I love ’em, but I do recognize they are a somewhat acquired taste.)
I’m telling my friends that for my next big birthday, they can send me rolls of movie tickets. Rayne made them look pretty fun! I’m so happy that the Lucky Six are each finding their individual joy — Cy with his magazines (!), Rayne with the tickets, Dora with hunky Willy B.,….
I know there will be bumps and adjustments and surely some drama, but the path is forward towards joy and that’s literally wonderful.
And I think from here forward we should all refer to him as “Nutmeg the Handsome” (or maybe NTH if we’re texting or in a hurry).

Good idea Sofia. You know we can never have enough photos of all of the residents at CSNW.

I heartily concur! Send on the photo dumps, and even some selfies if you like. Great fun to see just random photos of these chimp people, living their random lives. Punny titles are
also fine by me- y’know, there are some extraordinarily talented artists who title
their work “Untitled,” followed by its place number. Could be 1,000. The efforts “all y’all” put into titling and entertaining and informing is well appreciated, of course. But I, for one, don’t want you overtaxing yourself, especially to the point you’d have to leave your very appreciated work of caring for these chimps- 16 now, must be a whole lotta love and work combined.

Here’s a blog idea.
Title: NO WORDS
Followed by nothing but photos
I love the pic of Jamie and her table of one. I had a thought the other day… Have you ever thought of putting in a big picnic table? A super tough one obviously. Wouldn’t it be cool to see several at the table at once? eating or just Hanging out? I don’t know if the picnic table is possible but… Sure would be cool. I bet the greenhouse guys could build one (or three)
Linda C says
I love the picnic table idea in theory, Paulette. But Jamie doesn’t share, and that would just make it easier for her to not share by centralizing all of the food in one spot. If they sat at the table without squabbling, it would be most cool. But …
I’ll try to find the tea party video to show you.
Besides, we know how much Jo likes to lie down to eat, lol!

Thanks so much for the photo dump, Sofia! Love these pics and the personalities of each that are captured in each one. It’s just plain heartwarming to see them enjoying their lives

Amazingly I like this concept! I say amazingly bc I LOVE a video of these friends of mine but I thoroughly enjoyed the dump.

Who said you need a theme?! One photo with a brief caption would make me happy. Hahaha! But I’m loving that you are introducing the photo dump. Thanks Sofia for the photos and the highlights of the day. Truly appreciate every image, even if there were no selfies.

I do totally agree Kathleen….
Just photo’s with a caption would make me very happy; and then of course a video ( long one ) once a week….
No writing ( and thus no long thinking about what to write ) required.
Linda C says
I agres, except for we’d miss out on Katelyn’s writing….
Susan Casper says
No theme is necessary. These beautiful chimps are always captivating. Thank you for the dump.

Loved the Jamie picture :Table for One.

Go ahead and do photo dumps, Sofía, and call your fav “catch of the day”, since it’s usually hard for you guys to capture these moments.
This blog made me think about how hard it can be for me to be “punny finny” in Spanish (my second language). We’ll leave it to the guys (and Sam, if she cannot be saved).
