As you may have heard, the quarantine period for the Lucky Six has ended. This means we are able to give them access to different areas, while still keeping them separate from Willy B, Honey B, and Mave. So today, we gave Willy B and crew access back to one of the playrooms and greenhouses as well as the front rooms and outdoor chute, while Cy and gang were given the other playroom, greenhouse, and mezzanine. It was filled with a lot of firsts. The two groups met each other closer than they have been able to since being here. It was also the first time Cy and gang were able to check out the upstairs mezzanine.
With this, we know the question will be ask if and when they two groups will be merged. Something like that that takes a lot of careful planning, which we are currently doing. At this time, we do not know an exact date, but when the times comes, you will be sure to know.
Here are some photos from today:
Maureen says
Wow, such exuberance! No one is shy here, either. Great to see it all. One of the 6 is very interested in Willy B, I recall. Did she get a closer look at him today, too?
Linda C says
Dora and Rayne, and Dora gets a close look at him at dinner time!
Chad de Bree says
Hi Maureen! Dora has shown some interest in Willy B. According to the records we received, Dora, Honey B, Terry, and Willy B were all housed together for some time many years ago. We cannot definitively say they recognize each other, but after yesterday’s reactions of seeing each other from a closer view point, there are hints they might.
Linda C says
Thanks for the info, Chad!
Jania Henderson says
After the damage to Burrito when you tried to merge the 7 and the 3, you are still thinking of getting the 3 together with the new group?
Stacey Bradley says
I just love them all so much.
Since the 3 and the lucky 7 came from the same place, would they be familiar at all with each other?
Stacey Bradley says
I meant lucky 6. That’s what I get for typing so fast.
Chad de Bree says
Hi Stacey! They were housed in different locations away from each other at Wildlife Waystation. However, the records we receive indicate Dora, Honey B, Terry, and Willy B were housed together many years ago, and there was some hint yesterday that you can see in the video they may recognize each other, though we cannot definitively say this is the case.
Linda C says
That’s a nice long video, Chad! Thanks!
Was that Willy B and Terry recognizing each other!? Haven’t they met before?
L’il Dora so excited sje couldn’t eat.
Andave and Willy B displaying, Beezus playing it cool, when we all know she’ll be the hurdle to jump.
The best part of all was 4 out of 5 coygars trying to get a look see! 😛
marianne says
Hey Linda, were you wearing your glasses when you wrote this??? 🙂
Linda C says
I’m on my phone late at night.
This is why we want editing.
Chad de Bree says
We cannot definitively say this was them recognizing each other, however it’s a really positive sign. Terry, Willy B, Dora, and Honey B were all group mates several years ago in their younger years.
Linda C says
Old friends reunited. I love it, Chad! Thanks!
tom austin says
as Jerry Lee Lewis would say….Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On……….
Kathy says
Is their behavior what you expected? Was there anything that surprised
you re: them exploring their perspective areas?
Chad de Bree says
We expected most of these behaviors when they got a closer look at each other. What surprised us was how confident Gordo, Rayne, and Dora were to investigate and explore the Mezzanine first.
Kathleen says
What a big day! I have to rewatch this a few times, so much to see. A lot of rocking and displaying and few good water spits too. I enjoyed Gordo’s foot slow but steady tap lead in to his display (cue the music!). And is that Mave displaying?!
It’s really something to see both groups being able to see other during mealtime and they are so quiet. Absolutely loved seeing Jamie, Foxie, Jody, and Annie pressed against the caging hoping for a peek at the action going on next door.
Most importantly, how do all of you feel about today? You must be full of excitement and countless emotions. Congrats and good luck as you move ahead according to your plans.
Linda C says
Mave is so floofy when she displays!
Annie was rocking….and Dora looked a tiny bit stressed when she saw Honey B (putting that ol’ target on her forehead).
Betsy says
I’m rooting for Dora to become friends with Willy B. She’s right, he’s a fine lookin’ guy!
Linda C says
We can hope!
Keith Dawson says
They all had on their best “Fluffy Suits” for the first meeting. Looking large and impressive guys.
Deanna says
Such a big day!!! So much excitement!!! Honey B is such a great spitter.., she is spot on accurate!!! That display of Maves!! Wow! I know when intros start to happen things will be taken very slowly. These two groups lived in two completely different areas of the ranch with no visual contact. If they have seen each other before it have not been for many many years! Maybe at the lab or shortly after arriving at WWS. Anyway, intros always make me so darn nervous. They can be so brutal to one another as we remember with poor dear Burrito…until intros begin they will still have lots of exploring to do and lots to keep them occupied!!! When will they have access to an outdoor space? I’m curious if they will be as nervous about going out as the other three… my gut tells me no, they will go out!
Linda C says
They definitely seem to approach things with much less trepidation than the 3, don’t they, Deanna?! Maybe it’s due in part to being part of a larger group
Deb Reintzell says
What a wonderful video! Thanks so much for sharing these guys with all of us outsiders and, as always, thanks so much for what you’re all doing! It’s warms my heart to see all of them given the opportunity to be part of each other’s lives if even from a distance. Fingers crossed they continue to be curious and can get closer with acceptable behaviors.

These videos are so amazing! It’s so wonderful to see them exploring new spaces that they
now get to enjoy. And the spaces that you create are so interesting! I am wondering how you
know that certain aspects of their spaces can stand up against their strength? I’m assuming you
can guess how they’ll interact with most things, but is some of it just making it as strong as you can and seeing what happens? Just curious from watching them move around in their new homes. Love everything you do for them all!!
Stevie Gillis says
My, the Cle Elum 7 look like choir boys….is it me or do the lucky 6 look awfully big….
Linda C says
They are hilarious, with their faces pressed up against the bars!
