Coming from a tropical Island, I have heard plenty of times that on warm days one should do and move as little as possible. This was the norm today at the Chimp House, and will probably be during the next few days. Willy B, like everyday, got access to the Courtyard this morning but decided it was best to stay resting under the shade in the Chute with Mave, both cooling off with the breeze. The Cle Elum 7 got access in the morning to Young’s Hill and everyone but Jody decided to stay put indoors. This only lasted a little while because shortly after Jody came in to rest in the Green House #1 and was then joined by Foxie. After lunch, both Burrito and Jamie wanted accompanied walks around the hill. After a play session, Burrito wanted Sam to go around the hill with him. Later after, boss Jamie saw coming back from visiting the cattle while driving the Gator and demanded a walk, I complied.

BONUS: Check out some of the strawberries growing next to the Chute. Best. Strawberries. Ever.
I’m sure the chimps will have their eyes on those berries the way Missy watches the tomatoes!
It appears Ms. Mavis prefers the upper decks of the new greenhouse? Looks like a great place to just let the open air flow all around her. Sweet photo of Foxie and Jody resting and relaxing together. And a beautiful photo of Nutmeg.
I always enjoy a peek at what is currently growing in your garden. Is there anything better than freshly plucked strawberries on demand?!
From the looks of Cle Elum’s weekly weather forecast it doesn’t appear as if the chimps or the caregivers will have much relief. Crank up the fan-misters, summer came in with a bang! Hang in there everyone….
Thanks, Sophia, for sharing the reports of the day and the pics. It does my heart good to see Mave relaxing in the new greenhouse. Obviously, she feels safe there to do so, even if she doesn’t walk on the grass (yet).
Well, everything I thought of and felt while reading the blog was already said here by other commenters. So…. DITTO! Especially Mave! Sooooo happy to see her high up in the greenhouse. Melts my heart.
Thank you Sophia!
