Before we get into the bulk of the blog, lets play a game shall we?
She loves to be in forts, and can build her own quite well, though maybe not as well as some of her group mates. She loves to lay on her back and grasp her feet together in the air. Who is in the fort? Answer is at the end of the blog.
While you ponder who could possibly be in a fort, let’s get into today.
Thank you so much those who could donate for Giving Day for Apes so far! We are not quite at our goal but there is still time to donate. The fundraiser ends at 9pm PST/12am EST. But either way we want to send our sincerest thank you to those who have donated and continue to support us past, present, and beyond! Because of you, you have helped us try to provide the best lives we possibly could for Annie, Burrito, Foxie, Honey B, Jamie, Jody, Mave, Missy, Negra, and Willy B!
One of the things you have helped us provide is choice.
The choice to choose which doll will be the Doll Du Jour.
The choice to nap on a rainy day.
The choice to either eat inside or outside.
The choice to go outside.
The choice to play with friends…
Or the choice to have a quiet grooming session.
And the choice to make the caregivers go on a run around Young’s Hill…
And then play with them upon return.
With all the generosity throughout the years during events such as Giving Day for Apes, you have helped us provide them with one of the most precious things in life: Choice! So thank you!
And drum roll please!
The answer to who was in the fort…..
MAVE!
Thank you for playing!
And as a bonus:
Right as we were serving dinner, I was indeed able to get a proper photo of Missy!
The choice to enjoy a baked sweet potato!

What a wonderful post with all the variety of a snack pack …. Each and every one of the chimps has the unique traits that make them, “them”… It’s beyond fantastic to see Bubba so active, happy and playing as if no snake ever bit him and no encounter with the “new” 3 had gone awry. His spirit is truly happy with the choices he has every day.. as are they all. Thanks Chad.

I was watching your leader board during the Power Hour and I couldn’t believe the amount of money raised in that one single hour. Wow. The choice to help beloved friends and show appreciation for the wonderful hardworking caregivers. Thanks for all the photos today and for the little game of Guess Who. Who else could it have been but marvelous silly Mave?! That last shot is such a cute photo of Mave, almost as if she is popping up from her fort to say “surprise!”.
Congrats on another successful Giving Day for Apes!

That was a “smile all the way to the end blog”. The last picture of Mave showed
complete joy and content and a big thank you for life at CSNW. I so love the blogs
and all the wonderful pictures. Everyone who is involved should be so happy to
their kindness for the chimps at the sanctuary. Hopefully more can join as time
goes by. Kudos to all the caregivers and donors.
