Senior Portrait Day

April 3, 2020 by J.B.

This morning, Mave was showing off some luxurious locks and a yearbook photo worthy pose. She is the coolest.

Those are the only photos I managed to get this morning, so I guess today is my day to clear out some photos from the old phone. Here’s Missy chomping on some sweet potato in the Greenhouse.

As you may have seen on yesterday’s blog, Anna has returned from her maternity leave and Chad has agreed to stay on as a permanent staff member. Here we are celebrating – it’s a sign of the times when you need to use panoramic mode to get all five people at a party in the same shot (Katelyn was working remotely).

People often refer to hay as either “cow hay” or “horse hay”. While these names can mean different things to different people, it’s usually the case that cow hay is of a lesser quality. Perhaps it got rained on before being baled or sat around for far too long. Cattle, it seems, are less sensitive than horses to molds and other impurities, but don’t let that make you think they aren’t picky. These four have very refined palates and they will boycott any hay that is not up to their standards. Conversely, when you bring the good stuff they will eat it right out of the Gator with such enthusiasm that you can’t even get it to their feeder.

When we built the foot box we had a hunch it would work but we needed to be sure before relying on it to diagnose an injury. So we threw a troll in the box. For science.

Very pretty portrait of Mave, it looks like she was prepared for that close-up!:-))
Enjoyed all, stay well everyone and thank you.

J.B. those are all wonderful pictures. Mave looks stunning. So glad the cattle are happy and that picture of the troll doll is too funny. Thanks for the uplifting post. Hope you are all safe and well.

That first photo of Maeve is just gorgeous!!!!!!!! Could you tell me if you received a 15 inch Troll doll for Foxie just recently?

Hi Wanda – Yes, I think we did! We’ve been quarantining packages for at least 24 hours but I think Anna opened that one today and put the troll in the queue to be cleaned. Thanks!

“For science ” 😀 that one is right up there with pasta cam, JB!
Glad to see you’re all in good humor!

Yes, Mave’s pose is very much that of the girl whose family hired a professional photographer to take their senior year picture! All she’s missing are the designer jeans.

So glad you all had a moment to breathe in the same room at the same time, and celebrate Anna’s return and Chad staying. When normalcy returns, we’ll send some more cookies to celebrate that party!

JB, is the picture of the cows from this week? Are you getting spring grass already? Just askin’, you know, for a geriatric friend…

That was from Saturday. I think we’re still about 3 weeks from Negra’s grass season…at least that’s how long we’re planning to wait to turn the cows out. We’ll see!

I should have updated you! She’s doing great. Her foot is looking great so far and she’s mostly in good spirits – she just wants to be back with the gang. She had a play date today so a few more days of low-intensity socializing and she should be good to go.

Loved the photos, new and old and news about our friends that goes with them.

BtW, how’s Jody? I assume no news is good news but my assumptions have gotten me in trouble in the past.

A troll?! I hope you got Foxie’s ok. If she picks a fight now you’ll know why. : )

And here I was was thinking Mave was a bit camera shy. As if! She looks gorgeous. Very funny learning about the Moo’s selective pallet. That is a great shot of the four diving into the good stuff, amazing how big Nutmeg is compared to the ladies. I adore that handsome chap. Feel free to share your many photos any day (or every day!).

Wow–that first picture is so professional–the sharpness–but most of all the POSE. Cover of a magazine quality. Congrats to the photographer

Lol, if Mave were to go on Tinder!…
