While we are on a bit of break with the introductions, Jamie, Missy, Jody, Annie, and Foxie are spending their time in the new Phase 1 area of the building. Foxie was with Burrito in there for about a week, but Wednesday was the first time the others got to go into that space (and the chute too!).
I wasn’t able to get any good photos of them in the chute (or when they went on patrol on the hill) today, but here they are enjoying the new indoor rooms:
Foxie and Missy playing downstairs:
Then grooming upstairs in what we are referring to as the mezzanine:
Jody inspecting some toy tools next to Foxie:
A grooming triangle with Missy on the left and Jamie on the right:
Missy trying out a new bed/bench in the mezzanine (I think it met with her approval):
Annie just holding Missy’s foot while lying on the floor in the mezzanine:

Sweet pictures of our girls, they look so happy and relaxed 🙂

We are ever so hopeful! 2 fabulous integrations then 1 dicey integration followed by amazing grate interactions. I know this isn’t a math thing but I’m counting more pluses than anything else. The grate meeting of the big boys had some echos of Burrito’s play and training with J.B. and other care givers. Bubba loves you guys and to give W.B. the shoulder and play “guess where my finger will go next” looked like acceptance to this very inexperienced observer. Congratulations!!
CSNW staff ROCKS!

Thank you for sharing. These pictures make my heart happy! You all are amazing in what you are doing for these 10 wonderful Chimpanzees. I can only imagine how exhausted you are after this week. Thank you for doing what you do. Please remember to take care of yourselves as well.

Hi Diana,
Still keeping my fingers crossed! Because the girls need to forage on JamieWeen! Farmer Jo needs her pumpkin!
Glad to see The Tiny One with her friends again….if only she could meet Mave! Quietly, I mean…
Luckily, you’ve got Missy and Annie in the same group, still…I shudder to think what kind of mess Annie would be without her….I did notice in a video you posted the other day, when you said the girls all chased Willy B out, that Annie was trying to stick very close to Missy in the middle of the ruckus, as Missy exploded back into the greenhouse, swung up, then headed back into the playroom…Annie wasn’t far behind.

Foxie and Missy grooming in the mezzanine is seriously too cute. But Annie holding Missy’s foot might win the day for me. Hope Neggie is enjoying her new friends. And I hope Burrito is healing and feeling better with each passing day. Hang in there caregivers, we are all pulling for you.

Perhaps intervals with some of the familiar 7 will help. Help to keep perspective that, yes, strangers have joined us, but our friendships with our old friends are still there.

The foot-holding picture is precious. You caretakers have certainly had a rough week but there were glimpses here and there of quieter times to come. I am apparently missing out on some happenings because from time to time people make comments about something that happened and I look at your posts daily–it’s the first thing I do every morning. I don’t know how to use facebook, twitter or any other site so I am assuming you are posting things in another area.

Hi Elaine! Sometimes we share information on our e-newsletter, but most everything is also shared on the blog , so I don’t think you should be missing anything!

It is so nice to see how much they care for each other. Their instincts and feelings must run very deep and not they are free to show that part of them without fear probably. Very nice pictures.
