Another day in sanctuary

June 8, 2019 by J.B.

Negra weighing the cost of getting out of bed versus the benefit of eating breakfast:

Foxie’s first stroll around the hill:

Negra got plenty of sun today:

Annie preferred the shade:

Jody bringing her lunch forage haul back to the greenhouse:

Annie blowin’ in the wind:

Jamie dissecting a cucumber. Why do the humans keep leaving the peels on?

Jody laying down to eat while watching the rest of her family forage on the hill:

Oh, Neggie’s thinkin’ on it long and hard…… I love to see the chimps shot in this light, against that green background….it just makes the purply colors come out!
Foxie has been working that same doll for a while now, hasn’t she!?

That first photo begs me to ask what did the Queen decide to do? Such beautiful photos, each one making me smile inside and out.

She did get out of bed (she can’t resist peanuts) but breakfast had to wait for about 20 minutes until after the tornado known as Burrito swept through.

Thanks for the reply J.B.. I can only imagine that the gals were a little disturbed by Tornado Man. However. (sorry Negra!) I am thrilled to hear Burrito is up and running at 100% and back to his old whirling dervish self!

So very glad that Burrito is back to being his full Burrito self.. maybe feeling even a bit better due to the dental work and the removal of the imbedded item… watch out for force of nature gals!!!!

Sometimes the tiniest, most banal things highlight the spectacular transformation that you have brought to the lives of your guests: one chimpanzee can opt to sunbathe, another can opt for the shade. Simple choices in how to live your day that were denied them for decades.

Oh, I just adore the light in Jody’s eyes and the look on her face. Radiantly beautiful!
