Happy Birthday, Jennifer!

March 2, 2019 by Katelyn

Today was sponsored by Jennifer Swift who shared this beautiful message:

“This day is my 50th birthday and I’m celebrating by honoring all of the animals that have touched my life and taught me about myself.”

Jennifer, this is so lovely! It lifts our hearts to hear of your love and compassion for the animals you’ve shared your life with and we’re so touched to know the chimpanzees are included. Thank you for making a difference in their lives in return, we so appreciate you! Happy, happiest of birthdays to you!

Just as each of the chimpanzees are, Jody is an inspiration every single day for not only what she’s endured in life, but how she thrives in spite of it. Every day, a celebration.

I share Jennifer’s sentiment. I, too, have not only learned so much from (non-human) animals, but my life has been also been so enriched by their wisdom and their “anima”. I’ve never met Jody in person (how fortunate that Irene and Joseph, the recent visitors to the CSNW from Ngamba Island, were able to meet her; I understand that Jody was quite the hostess), but just seeing these beautiful pictures like the ones posted here speak volumes. It is wonderful to see her forage from the bounty of her land (and, after a day of foraging, recline in sandbox large enough to receive her).

A friendly “Hello,” Tobin…I just want to share with you how much I enjoy your cheerful & insightful comments…I look forward to seeing what your thoughts of the day are regarding these fascinating & magnificent creatures…They have also touched my life in a deeply & profound way…Making me even more aware of the struggles of mankind throughout the World…Animals will ALWAYS be a HUGE part of my heart…As long as I live…(All animals, but I’ve always had a special place in my heart & soul for the Great Apes…

      Be well, Tobin…
