Al fresco

March 29, 2019 by J.B.

Missy and a few of the other chimps took their breakfast outside this morning.

Chimps will often eat many of the peels and rinds that we avoid, but only after they’ve finished the best parts. Annie and Burrito are the biggest scavengers of these less desirable bits.

After fueling up, Missy led her gang up to the Twister and then on a walk around the perimeter of Young’s Hill.

These shots are making me run from keyboard straight to the oranges. YUM!
What a beautiful, elegant thumb and thumbnail. The chimps are so very lovely!

Like June said, Missy just made the best commercial for a juicy fresh orange I have ever seen. Yummy, I now want one too. I am also giggling over Mr. B. propped up or climbing up on his ladder and Missy’s adorable silhouette in the last photo. Looks like another beautiful fun filled morning on Young’s Hill.

Such incredible photo shots of these magnificent chimps…The space above my worktable is plastered with photos, notes, scrap reminders I seem to always forget about ’til it’s too late..,
(HaHa,) magazine covers & articles, artwork, lists, etc., etc., etc…However, I would so gladly have this (closeup) exquisite image of that fascinating hand grasping the orange peels…& with such perfectly lovely lighting, matted & framed, front & center, on my busy wall…(Near such a dear, framed portrait of beloved Burrito that I really do cherish…)

Thanks again & again for your true Love & dedication to these (amazingly) resilient creatures…As well as the two outside…Anyway, as far as Ellie goes, I’m so very anxious to know of any recent news…Like so many other animal lovers among our midst, I am truly concerned about her current overall, AND future well being…
I can hardly wait for the next group of Chimps to arrive…Wait until they’ve realized they’re finally SAFE from all the human harm & indignities they were subjected to during most or all of their lives, after being relocated to “CSNW”…A true “Chimp Heaven on Earth”, with all the precious humans there & about, who so lovingly/humanely give them the absolute BEST healthy & enriched lives possible)… after most of them having suffered such (cruel) indignities & pure mental/physical harm during their lives…Considering how incredibly intelligent & resilient chimps are, it’s not such a surprise as to how quickly most of them recover & learn “chimp compassion” & respect for their fellow chimps…I’m seriously moved to tears every time I see or read about how they “take sides” & even offer comfort & reassurance to one another during conflicts that will inevitably arise among them…
Hope every one will have a joyful weekend with those they love…

    Debi

And to think that Missy of all the chimps is the one leading the gang for a walk. Wondrous power of healing. Next will be Negra.
