Ready to Go!

January 13, 2019 by Kelsi

Well these chimps were ready to go this morning! Jody and Foxie sprinted out the raceway onto Young’s Hill this morning. Annie sat and soaked in the crisp winter morning. Missy came rippin’ onto the Hill and had a quick morning hug with Annie and ripped right back inside! Burrito attempted to go out but quickly turned around to wait for everyone to come back inside. And when Jamie came out she was ready to conquer any quest!

Here is Foxie a little pilo out on the Hill:

After a brave attempt to hang with the girls, Burrito patiently waited for them to return to the Green House safely:

Burrito retreated back to the warm front rooms eventually:

Neggie with all her wisdom knew where she wanted to be (on the platform in Front Room 2 with a pile of blankets):

Jamie taking a quick yoga tree stand:

Later, after her Hill adventure she spent her leisurely morning wearing an ankle boot and another boot in her pelvic pocket all while laying on a barrel watching the volunteers clean the Playroom:

Well, that’s why you call it the “raceway”, right!? 😀
Does Burrito not like to go out alone, or was it just too chilly for him?
Darn those girls for not taking him with?

Personally I’m with Burrito and Negra, it’s nice to stay snug and warm on a cold day. I am so proud of Annie, Ms. Independent these days. Who would have guessed she would be the one to venture outside, on her own, without Missy at her side or in the lead. Way to go Annie. And Jamie’s photos totally cracked me up. Thanks Kelsi, for the photos and the rundown of the day.

What beautiful pictures of the Queen, and Burrito as he bravely awaited the ladies to return inside from
    the hill.

Do you guys accept previously owned boots as a donation ?

Hi Carla! Yes, we do! Anything can be mailed to: PO Box 952, Cle Elum, WA 98922. Just a caveat – we can’t guarantee that they will be deemed “chimp safe” – sometimes boots have foam or other material that we do not give the chimps because Annie in particular has a habit of chewing on material that would not be good to ingest.

Do you guys take donations of boots and of so must they be brand new.
    Thank you so much.

PS Iordered a pair of brand new leather boots they go to the knees but are too narrow to wear once I tried them on. They came from China and I can’t be bothered to exchange them as they don’t have a size bigger. Just wondering if you guys would like to give yo the chimps yo play with. Please give me address for donation.
Warm Regards to you and the chimps.

Hi Carla! We do take donations of boots – used and new. We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to give them to the chimpanzees because sometimes boots contain materials that we decide is not safe (Annie in particular has a habit of chewing on foam and some types of plastic). You’re welcome to send them our way and we’ll donate them somewhere else if they don’t work out. PO Box 952, Cle Elum, WA 98922.

Thank you for thinking of the chimps!
