Feel the joy!

January 23, 2019 by Anna

Today was filled from top to bottom with sunshine (prime weather for wrestling in the greenhouse). One window in particular was the hot spot made popular by Missy and Foxie who had a wild game going that included multiple play partners.

Missy (back) with Foxie (front):

Jody, Missy and Foxie:

Annie joins the party and Jody leaves to make room for her on the windowsill:

Oh yes, thank you! I am filled with joy even with just the top photo, the 3 ladies lined up and ready for fun. Glad to see the purple-haired dolly got in on the action. And then to enjoy the whole sequence! Joy, Joy, Joy! (Sun on this side of the mountains made only a short appearance this morning, but I too frolicked in my window when it showed up. And I’m 72. Never too old!)

And interrupting Annie was there, too!
I agree with June, the top photo is the best! Kudos to you guys for being able to capture a moving target!
And thanks for sharing the joy. I live on an island, and most of us have had our gas (i.e, heat, for many of us) cut off since Monday afternoon. Everyone’s safe, but at the time, with the wind chill, we had temps of -15 to -20.
Thankfully, I can duck home for healthy meals because we still have electricity and I have an electric stove, but others don’t. And no one’s hurt so far, but we’ve all had to put up in hotels (the company is helping us with that, and Red Cross is facilitating), and the temps went up into the 50s today, but yeah-I finally got warm about 11pm last night. So today more than ever, I really appreciate your sharing the chimps’ joy!
    It warms my heart! 😉

        Thanks, Anna.
Hot healthy dinner is great, but not when it’s in a v. cold kitchen! 😀

I asked on yesterday’s, but there were a lot of comments.
About how much does little Miss Foxie weigh? I guessed they’re at somewhere between 70-100, but have no idea.

          She’s right around 100lbs 🙂

OMG, I can hear their breathy laughs right through my computer screen! These are the best photos, what a laugh. I can totally feel the warmth, love, and fun. Seriously, I can actually feel these images, silly girls.

How did they squeeze themselves into that window?! I know Foxie and Missy are small but seriously. And Mother Jody peeling out so Annie could join in on the fun is just too precious. This post right here is the perfect answer to why ALL chimpanzees (and all animals held in poor captive conditions) need to be retired and released to a fulfilled life in an accredited sanctuary.

Friendship and laughter, we need more of this in our world.

I agree with everyone’s comments these are wonderful pictures. The joy comes across so well. I especially love the last picture of their hands all up in the air like they are so free to do whatever they please:)
