Thanksgiving 2018!

November 22, 2018 by Anna

Today’s menu:
Stuffed pumpkins with quinoa and lentils, cranberries, dinner rolls, sparkling cider and green beans. With an additional side of mini pumpkin!

A special shout out to volunteer Patti for driving over a snowy mountain pass to help pull off the meal and intern Emily for all her hard work cleaning enclosures on a holiday!

Looks and sounds like Jody…I love it when she does a food grunt three times into a pumpkin or a coconut, and it echoes! Thanks for sharing! Looks like Mr. B. braved the cold to eat his pumpkin in the raceway, so that he wouldn’t have to share! He’s getting smarter! Even Neggie got excited and busted all the onions off the plates!

Actually, I think I got that wrong….looks like what Neggie was after were those dinner rolls!

Love this! What a fabulous feast. It’s like they knew it was a holiday!

And a special thanks to whomever sucked up the cold to get that raceway footage at the end! Hope you got something warm to drink after!

To Diana, Patty, Anna, and Emily I send you all my love and gratitude for making todays celebration over the top as always. (I believe Jody’s grunts were your reward). I can’t stop replaying this silly video. Burrito’s custom pumpkin backscratch, Negra absconding with the first dinner roll she set her eyes on and I believe that roll was not savored but gulped down whole, and foraging for goodies out on Young’s Hill (in the cold!) — what a festive feast. And since I always say how much I love the sounds of chimps enjoying their food you can only imagine my squeaks, squeals, and laughter over your grand finale with Jody! Not sure what I loved most, her smacks, grunts (LOVED those to death!) or all the little tid-bits of food scattered all over Jody’s gorgeous face. Thank you camerawoman for that ending, best ever.

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I totally agree. I conclude that Jody enjoyed her lunch.

Lol, Neggie chewed that roll two or three times! 😀 I, too, keep re-watching this…..love the great closeup of Foxie’s excited breathy pant, Mr. B beside himself with joy, starting his “strut”, and as Jamie’s barks bring the chatter to a crescendo, Missy’s on the stairway bannisert saying “Come one, Annie, come on! Hurry up!”

I’m in the “me too” camp with this video. I’ve never heard Jody’s food grunts before, but they’re absolutely awesome!

You gotta love the way the staff just stands back and watches the fighting over the food, and then so nonchalantly says “Eh, it’s just politics.” I swear they’re like kids. The chimps, not the staff. ;P

I look forward to these holiday food videos so much each year, so I’m thankful y’all never disappoint. Thanks for posting them, but make them longer! 🙂

    Cheers.

Check out the video on “Sharing”……..Jody begs for some of Foxie’s coconut and, Foxie being Foxie, she gives Jody the bigger of the two pieces……as Jody takes it to her mouth, her belly moves with three satisfied food grunts, which echo into the coconut shell! It’s the best!

Every video I receive every day is enjoyable but the special birthdays and holiday parties can’t be beat. This one did not disappoint. They really KNOW its a special occasion as they watch the trays being brought in. Such excitement.

Thanks to all of you for all that you do!
