Weekend construction

October 8, 2018 by Katelyn

Just because the construction workers and J.B. and Diana have Sunday off does not mean everyone considers it to be a day of rest. There were still projects that needed completing and thankfully, we have one lady who never rests: Jamie.

After her DYI project on the swinging bridge on Young’s Hill, she came back inside and promptly got to work on a corner of the wall in the chimps’ playroom area. In stealth, spider-chimp mode, she was even able to complete her project with no noise so caregivers were surprised/not surprised to see all she had accomplished. Once discovered I think she was happy that she could really let the hammering and sweeping up begin.

After her hard work yesterday, Jamie has been restful and content all this rainy day. J.B., however, is back on the job. He didn’t really want a full weekend anyway…

I think a nice toolkit would make a very thoughtful gift for Jamie’s birthday later this month. 🙂

haha, I believe she has one! Looks like what she really really wants is something more…..like a sledgehammer! Oh, Jamie…….if only she could put those smarts to more constructive “projects”!

Linda, Jamie would really love some power tools. 😉

Sorry for the dupes. Often when I view your blog, I see “5 comments”, but only one shows (so I wind up double-posting, apoloiges_. Pity we can’t give her some Tyco Tuff Kids power tools…….but I’m sure you don’t want them having batteries…….or other chimps losing an eye again, lol!

      Hi Amy,
She has one waiting for her birthday now! 🙂

Lol, I believe she has one! She’d probably like a sledgehammer, though! Does Jamie not like to have her photo taken? She often seems to stop doing what she’s doing when she realizes people are paying attention.

Looks to me as if Jamie saved the day with that faulty piece of wood on the shaky bridge, whew. Personally, I think Jamie is actually trying to show your construction team they need to consider hiring her to work on the Expansion Project. She’s showing off her qualifications. Any chance you have photos of the inside damage, I mean construction?! : )

Tbh, I don’t think that board was loose until it met Jamie! She’s ripped off part of the molding around the bottom of the wall before, just because she could. I think this might have been a similar occurrence. Then she moved to the support under the ladder, and that’s when she realized she was being watched/filmed.

She reminds of a worksite inspector?
