Sanctuary Livin’

June 24, 2018 by Kelsi

Well, today Jody decided she couldn’t leave the Greenhouse for us to clean because she was REALLY comfortable. I mean, I couldn’t agree more…

It was pretty hot today and even Jamie thought it was too hot to walk around the Hill. So she napped and stayed on patrol around the Chimp House…

Jamie even built a fort in the Playroom so that she could have her privacy, but still be able to watch what everyone was doing…

Burrito was trying to be on his best behavior with the ladies…

And Foxie and the rest of the chimps were really excited for mid-day shaved ice! It was almost too hot to play with dolls, but rest assure Foxie found a way!

Such beautiful people. Jamie looks comfortable and comfortably in charge. Foxie is such a Mona Lisa. And how nice to see that Burrito’s deportment in the company of the ladies was congenial, but that he was demonstrating his adherence to his dental hygiene regimen.

And it is good to see Jody at ease in her ertswhile sandbox after a long week of den motherhood. As for her Beatles tune, I think that even Paul would have to agree that Jody has sterling qualifications as a “Lady Madonna”.

How can you look at these photos and not be changed forever. I can feel the peace of Jody and Jamie in their comfortable places, and Burrito and Foxie look so gorgeous in this light they leave me speechless. There is no doubt that sanctuary livin’ is the only choice! So let’s fight to retire all chimps to this way of life…….
