    Hello, Elizabeth,

I’m sooo curious about something. While I know there’s really no way to tell just how much trauma each chimp endured whilst in lab testing, I’m wondering if Negra just didn’t suffer the most. She just seems to be the one that adapts to new change the most slowly, and definitely nests and takes comfort of all the guys the most.

Like I said, I know there’s just so way of knowing, v ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc (srry, Honeybump. my ginger tabby, decided he wanted to chime in, too 😉 )

Anyway, just curious on your thoughts.

Thanks so much. This blog and everything you share and everything I learn is really a needed respite in my hectic days. 🙂 <3

      Carla,

I’ve had the same thought — and worry — too. It grieves me that she was held captive for so many years. I love her and her companions dearly.

I think that I could watch Negra sleep all day. I hope that she had (and will have) pleasant dreams.

I wonder if they dream…if they make moves, like running, in their sleep like my dog does…

Oh Negra. Sweetest of sweet dreams for you!

Can’t help but realize that something as basic or common as a peaceful nap in the warm sun, snug and cozy under blankets should never be taken for granted. How fortunate Negra can enjoy this experience without worry or fear. This makes my heart sing.

I love the very last photo of Neggie when the video ends!

It shows I think just how for she has come since arriving at the sanctuary that she feels safe enough and relaxed enough to sleep when there is still movement around her. Thank you all so much for giving this beautiful chimp lady that peace of mind well deserved after her many years of pain and servitude!

Always only the sweetest of dreams for sweet Neggie????Night bags in the morning too..sweet corn on the cob…crisp romaine lettuce…fresh coconuts…the sun shining on your beautiful face…play time with your family…pineapple juice…BREAD…and everything that makes your heart joyful. I hope that you have forgotten everything before your sanitary life. I love you so much pretty lady????????

Love the pic with her hand under her chin. Great photos Wish you could rescue more of these poor souls still languishing in labs
