What’s that sound?

May 30, 2017 by Anna

This is audio from four different video clips on four different days at the sanctuary. Can you guess what’s going on in each clip based only on what you hear?

    No. 1 – I don’t know what that is
    No. 2 – pant-hoots? Excitement?
No. 3 – anger or distress?
    No. 4 – laughter ?

    This is hard !!

So here are the answers: 1: Annie chimpanzee’s special bird noises, 2: Burrito displaying, 3: High arousal snake alarm in the playroom, 4: Food grunts for a birthday party in the greenhouse! Thanks for playing 🙂

The loudest was Burrito being his macho self!! Pant hoots was about food and not sure about others…. TX that was fun!

    Oh this fun! (But tricky!)
    1. Annie and her sweet, happy bird noises!
    2. Jamie displaying? (I know she likes to bang and push things about and there’s big banging at the end. Or it could it be Mr. B!?)
    3. Fight in the chimp house
    4. Food grunts in the greenhouse (I hear the wind blowing)

      Really close!
Number 3 is actually a high arousal snake alarm calling situation. And it was Burrito who displayed! I’m super impressed you could guess where the food grunts were coming from!

    1- chimp making bird noises.
    2- chimp (Burito perhaps) displaying
    3- a bunch of chimps excitedly arguing/fighting.
    4- oh, boy!!! FOOD!! (Grunts)

Wow! Super close! The third one was a ton of screaming and alarm calling because of a snake in the playroom.
