Jamie’s Snow Day

December 12, 2016 by Elizabeth

Winter can be tough on Jamie sometimes – her frequent perimeter walks have to be put on pause if she doesn’t want to trudge through inches of snow. But winter’s not all bad. When the chimps don’t want to go outside, we bring the outdoors to them.

THIS WAS THE MOST INTERESTING VIDEO OF A CHIMP THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. SHE IS SO THOUGHTFUL ABOUT WHAT SHE IS OBSERVING AND TAKING HER TIME TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WITH THE DIFFERENT OBJECTS. I WAS MESMORIZED WITH WHAT SHE WOULD DO WITH WHAT OBJECT AND WAS WONDERING IF SHE ATE A SMALL BIT OF SNOW. IT IS VERY INTELLIGENT OF HER TO KNOW SHE COULD MOVE THE TABLE AROUND. SHE REALLY WAS CONSIDERING AND ONTEMPLATING!

All the chimps have interesting personalities, but Jamie is so fascinating to me. You just see the wheels turning when she comes across something that interests her. She is not the “Boss” for nuthin!

JAMIE FOR PRESIDENT! She can solve anything with contemplation and patience. Amazing blog!

She would make a smarter and better president than The Donald. 🙂

Really fascinating! And who among them chose the jazzy piano accompaniment? – do they get the aural treat/stimulation too?

The musical accompaniment was just on our side. 😉

I felt as if I was inside Jammie’s head watching as she checked out all the cool stuff on her table. And I was so hoping she was going to place those Foster-Grants right on her beautiful face! The look in Jamie’s eyes always takes my breath away. LOVE her so.

    I love this video.
Do you think Jamie would wear boots? Perhaps you could put boots on while she watches and give her a pair. If human boots aren’t a good fit, maybe some clever donor could make a pair. Dogs wear them, after all! I hate to think she is missing her constitutional due to snow.

Jamie sometimes puts on boots, but not for comfort or warmth. It’s really been too cold for her to take her walks, so it’s good that she’s smart enough to not go out there for too long.
