As promised, here is the video of yesterday’s party.
The anticipation of the feast is always the best part. When chimpanzees are happy, they share their happiness with everyone around them. They hug and kiss each other and join together in choruses of pant-hoots. And they share pants and grunts of excitement with their caregivers.
It’s a celebration not just of food, but of the family they have become. And we are grateful to be considered part of their family in moments like these.
Fabulous party! They sure get loud! Love it! ????
So wonderful to see (and hear) the chimps so happy. I love Annie and her brussel sprouts stalk! Thank you for giving them a such a special Thanksgiving Day. I’m so thankful for CSNW!
Great video! THank you. I have a question. It reminds me of Christmas morning with kids. How much time actually passed from the chimps going in for the party to the “end”, such that it might have been. I expect there were still a lot of “crumbs” to find…
When the party is in the greenhouse or the playroom, the bulk of it us usually over in about 20 minutes. Some of the chimps – Burrito in particular – will continue to scavenge for scraps long afterwards. If the party is on Young’s Hill, it can last much longer, because everything can be hidden throughout the two acres.
And I am truly thankful that I can still see the Magnificent Seven enjoying life to the fullest at CSNW. I know I’ve said it a hundred times but you guys are nothing short of amazing for what you do for the M7! 🙂 Your love for and dedication to them only seems to grow stronger through the years.
I’m thankful for all of you!
That is just great !
They just make me smile. They are so happy.
I finally could watch the video. I love supporting Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest. My first thought in watching this fun video was “free to be”. Finally these beautiful animals can act as they choose and be happy.
