It is a beautiful, chilly fall day here at the sanctuary, and the chimpanzees spent some time on Young’s Hill enjoying the crisp air. We have a lot of help with cleaning this morning, which means Jamie has many walking companions to choose from!
Here is Jamie on her second walk of the morning:
Jody also ventured out:
Missy and Annie spent a lot of time climbing on the hill, and then settled in the greenhouse to groom. Missy:

I wonder if this view may be part of the reason why Jamie goes on so many walks:
Ah, fall!
Jackie says
I don’t blame Jamie, the view is beautiful!
Cindy Roccodero says
The view is beautiful. Do chimpanzees see color like we do?
Whitney Emge says
Yes, chimpanzees also have color vision.
Arlene and Michael says
It’s wonderful that the chimpanzees have such beautiful surroundings and people who take care of them so well
Karen and Don says
Spectacular scenery! Ah to be a chimp at this amazing sanctuary! Some species have all the luck!
Maggie says
How many acres are there on Youngs Hill? It looks beautiful, and way big enough for full open chimp running!!!
Whitney Emge says
Young’s Hill is two acres.
Kathy B says
How does Jamie let you know who she wants to go around Young’s Hill with her ?
Whitney says
Usually Jamie will wait for a caregiver to walk by and then stomp her foot to get their attention. Once she has the caregiver’s attention, she will gesture toward where we usually store the cowboy boots and she waits for the caregiver to model various boots before she walks over to the door to go out onto the hill!
Kathleen says
Ahhhh that beautiful view!!! That view would inspire anyone to walk around Young’s Hill.
I wish were as flexible as Annie!
