An afternoon on the hill

October 23, 2014 by Elizabeth

Today after lunch I stepped outside to see what the chimpanzees were up to. I found Annie all alone on Young’s Hill, having a quiet moment.

Considering Annie is the lowest chimp in the hierarchy, she’s looking awfully confident these days.

A while later, boss Jamie (right) came outside and Annie offered her a submissive greeting.

Eventually Missy came out, and she and Jamie started up the hill for a perimeter walk. But just when they were getting started, a brief scuffle broke out in the greenhouse and Jamie ran inside to sort things out.

After that bit of drama, the boss was ready for a nap.

Just love to see them snuggled up with a blanket or two. And of course the ever preset boot for the boss. So glad they have you to take care of them – thank you!

Jamie: “Naturally, just when I’m setting out on patrol all hell has to break out in the house.”

I could almost hear the Mighty Mouse theme song watching the end of the video. “I HAVE COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!”

My dog was sleeping when he heard the chimp scream in the video. Poor boy jumped up and started looking around crying.

I have to ask, what was all the commotion about in the greenhouse? What did Jamie discover on her rescue mission?! I do need to design her a cape……… Happy to see her safe and snug in her nest with her beloved boot by her head at days end.

Sorry for the delayed response, Kathleen. I couldn’t see well from my vantage point, but I believe it was Foxie screaming, possibly in response to Burrito starting a display. It was very brief – you heard the extent of it in the video.

Jamie: ” Alright, what the hell is going on now?”….. I’ve turned Jamie into a New Yorker !
