Jamie helps flush the drain

September 19, 2013 by Debbie

Jamie is always trying to help us get our jobs done the right way. Sometimes she helps scrub the mesh fencing for us, other times she wipes the floor down. She monitors us while we clean, almost as if she is there to make sure we are doing it right!

Yesterday I caught her doing something new: holding down one of the water spigots. I’m not really sure why she was doing it, but it went on for quite awhile! Jamie wasn’t being very environmentally friendly… but she was helping us flush the drain.

She is definitely a character – no doubt about it!

She has been SO uncharacteristically playful the last week. Normally she is all business. But she’s been very silly lately. We love it!

This has to be the greatest clip of Jamie I’ve ever seen. Here reaction afterwards is classic.

She held that spigot down for at least 5 minutes, probably longer. I heard water running and kept trying to figure out where it was coming from! Her little face and head rub was pretty silly, too, which is a rare treat with Jamie – she’s normally so serious.

Hydro-therapy! It’s very soothing! Our chimps especially love their “water time”.

Only us chimp lovers could enjoy watching Jamie holding the water on for nearly a minute and then get rewarded with her silliness lying on the barrel and pushing off at the end!!! She’s fascinating!

Echoing Cherie and Cindy’s comment. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jamie make a silly move like that. That my friends, was a happy chimp.

That is pretty funny seeing Jamie being silly! What a joy to watch.
