Spring grass

April 25, 2013 by Debbie

Everyone is so happy about the spring grass (the chimps and the caregivers alike!) Just look at how content Jody looks:

And Negra is ecstatic to have an entire 2-acre salad bowl to munch on all day.

WOW! The earth does heal, just 6 months ago the scene was so different. Time heals a lot! in so many ways. How great to see happy chimps sitting in green with the sun shine! And big congrats on your new job. We’ll miss you down the road a bit!!

Isn’t it amazing? I just love the green grass!
And thanks 🙂 I’ll be around, planning to still be a docent at CHCI.

Oh my sweet goodness me,, Negra certainly has arrived!!

It fills my heart.. with such sweetness, happy tears, and joy,, it may have taken Negra longer than the others, but, its just, all the sweeter, for all of us out here who simply adore, and love, our sweet HRH Queen Negra .
wow, a two acre salad bowl.. this is fantastic
All of you must be jumping for joy to see Negra spread her wings, and fly on Young s Hill..
Thank you to ” The Young’s” , who donated for Youngs Hill !

If I could make a wish for the 7, I’d wish they could know how loved they are to the point where they now have the life they were denied for all those years.

Beautiful green — it fills my eyes (since I am still waiting for some here in MN) and seeing them out there fills my heart. I think I get so emotional about the chimps because their former lives were so horrible I really can’t imagine it, so every time I see them sunning, eating, playing, pausing to savor life, I just am overwhelmed with gladness, for surely few beings deserve their place in the sun more than former research and enterainment chimps. Thank you to all the humans who love them close up every day as well. Your dedication makes their lives possible. So everyone, enjoy Spring! Today is Arbor Day, what better day to do it!?

Dawn, that is exactly how all the caregivers feel! I definitely appreciate your comments, sometimes I feel like it’s hard to convey how happy we all get to simply see them on the hill. It seems like a year and half later some of the novelty of excitement would wear off, but that’s not the case!
