Digging

April 16, 2013 by Elizabeth

After lunch this afternoon, Debbie and I hung out for awhile in the greenhouse with the chimpanzees. Jamie seemed restless. She went into the building for a moment and returned to the greenhouse with a hand shovel and proceeded to dig. Annie, who is always a big fan of digging, couldn’t resist joining her.

Makes you wonder what she was thinking. I know I was. I was in awe when I saw her use her foot to dig. Jamie is amazing!

That was Annie using her foot wasn’t it? I’m wondering who taught Jamie to smack the handle with her other hand to push into the dirt. Thanks for sharing a part of Jamie and Annie’s day with us!!

Yes, that was Annie demonstrating the foot technique. 🙂

I always feel like digging in the springtime – that urge to plant something in the warming soil is just a natural reaction for me. Looks like it is for Jamie too! 🙂
