Distracted by the view

March 26, 2013 by Jackie

The weather has been absolutely perfect today- warm sunshine, blue skies, and absolutely no wind (which is rare for spring in Cle Elum). As I was taking my afternoon walk around the hill with Jamie, all seven chimps came outside. Other than Jamie, who was fixated on making sure I kept up with her, the other chimps seemed pretty happy just relaxing in the sun and checking out the view. I was having a hard time not stopping to take photos of the other chimps without making Jamie impatient, but thankfully, she let me get a couple of Burrito.

But it wasn’t long before I was summoned to keep going. Our boss certainly knows how to keep our priorities in check.

As I said on Facebook, “I was going into chimp withdrawal.” Glad to see another post. Spring and summer are wonderful. Glad the chimps had another beautiful day to come out and play! Jackie you must really be in shape to walk that hill!

Very wonderful images of Burrito on such a glorious spring day.
Woo hoo , Burrito,, he has become such a self assured, courageous young man on top of Young’s Hill. I recall when he was afraid to venture out alone,, let alone go a few feet, beyond the door.. NOW,, he ventures out, and about all alone, and without ANY fear ,He climbs ever so high up on the structures, this is what makes these pics all the sweeter ,
I’m so proud, and thrilled of Burrito’s courage .
The past year, has been a tremendous year. Young’s’ Hill has given all the chimps so much enjoyment, and room to grow, run ,walk ,play, and have fun.
I love, love, love , Burrito ! He truly is remarkable,, Being able to view pics, videos, and reading the staffs blog entries is a privilege

Rita that’s exactly what I was going to say. Brave boy!

Jackie, does the fact that B seems less fluffy (polo) mean that hes gaining confidence or is it a coincidence?

Probably so, Kerri. He definitely has been seeming more relaxed out there, along with the rest of the seven. Just this morning, he, Jody, Annie, and Missy were casually walking around the perimeter together and Burrito was not in least Pilo erect. 🙂

I just noticed my fair weathered speall check liked polo better than pilo.. either way its a HUGE leap.
