A new chapter

February 12, 2013 by Sarah

Last summer I let the Board and staff know that I intended to step down from my role as Executive Director at the sanctuary once we had the right person in place. I’m thrilled to share that my shoes have officially been filled! Of course it’s bittersweet for me to think about leaving the sanctuary, but I know it will be such a wonderful new chapter for this organization to have Jennifer on board. Please be sure to take a look at the announcement and join me in welcoming Jennifer to the Cle Elum Seven’s family. She’ll officially join us in March, but we couldn’t wait to spread the word!

Sarah – I am so glad that you will be at the auction. You will be missed 🙁 But I know we will hear of all the great things you will do in your future and that you will visit often, right??? And welcome Jennifer!

Oh, I knew it was coming, but I dreaded the day, as you’ve been so competent in your role there, and will be missed terribly I am sure. Jennifer seems a great person to take up the post however. I can only say thank you for all you have done for captive chimps, and will no doubt continue to do. Best of luck in every thing Sarah!

Good luck Sarah. Let me know if you ever decide to write a book about starting and running a chimpanzee sanctuary from an Executive Director’s point of view. You have first hand knowledge of the planning and resources needed – could be a good guide for others who think they’re crazy enough to try something like this!

You have done amazing work for the Chimps during your time.

    Welcome Jennifer!
