foxie and christmas troll

For Julie and Rob Sweet

December 25, 2012 by Elizabeth

Merry Christmas, everyone!  Jean Bengston has also sponsored today in honor of Julie and Rob Sweet, and it’s an exciting morning here at the chimp house.  The chimpanzees are eagerly anticipating the party that the caregivers are busy setting up.  Check back later for photos and/or video of today’s celebration.

Here is one of my favorite photos of Foxie checking out a new Christmas troll doll:

Do the chimps know it is a special day or are they excited by all the activity? Do they know the holidays? Thanks for enlightening me about chimpanzees. Merry Christmas to all.

The chimpanzees absolutely know when it’s a party day! They get more and more excited as they watch the staff and volunteers making their preparations.
