Jamie chases Jacki-gator

October 10, 2011 by Debbie

Today I was watching the chimps running around on the hill. Jamie and Missy were way in the distance. Missy was sitting on the log bridge up top and I couldn’t even see Jamie! Jody was sitting under the hammock and Foxie was running out and then back in over and over. Jackie hopped into the Gator (our farm utility vehicle) to try and find Jamie, and Missy started to play chase with her. Missy gave up quickly but Jamie was way more excited about it.

Sometimes when we play chase with the chimps, they will fake us out—meaning they will run one direction and then abruptly turn and go the other direction, and we have to try and catch up to them. Well, this is a lot harder to do when you have to turn around a Gator on a steep hill! You’ll see Jamie playing this “fake out” game with Jackie in the beginning of the video.

WOW! That is quite a hill. You can’t really tell how steep it is in previous videos. No wonder she was exhausted. I got a good chuckle at the look on her face. (I look like that every time I get up off the couch!) Tee-Hee!

    Great race car driving Jackie!

Love seeing them out in the grass–running, exploring, having their own space. She did look tired, but very contented.

This just made my day : ) Seeing Jamie running freely like that and then sleeping so peacefully is just terrific. What about Negra? Has she been getting out?

Oh that was so much fun to watch!!! A quick question Jackie… Did you try just putting it in reverse instead of turning around to chase Jamie? I wondered how good you were and if that would work? LOL This will put a smile on my face all day long!!! Thank you!

Although I don’t know if Jackie has this same experience, but for me personally—the gator is kinda hard to drive! It’s sort of like a go-cart, and putting it in reverse on such a steep hill is sort of tricky. 🙂
