A Fox in a Box

August 29, 2011 by Debbie

We tend to get a lot of empty boxes around here at the sanctuary, and the other day Denice thought the chimps might enjoy this especially giant box. She was right, it turned out to be a lot of fun. Who knew a plain old leftover box could be so entertaining!

i don’t know anyone that DOESN’T like empty boxes: kids, puppies, kittens, us older folks for storing, storing and shipping, shipping (stuff to chimpanzees) … so it is no surprise to me that the chimpsters felt the same.

Who knew? Children know the magic of the cardboard box…

I’m impressed that the box lasted as long as it did. I’ve always enjoyed watching Foxie play, but, as Marie once said, it’s nice to see Jamie take a break from being the alpha and having some fun.

I love this one–their play faces and chasing around. Pure joy–thanks Debbie.

If you ever come across a box that appliances come in…the BIG ones…be sure and put that out for them…our boys used to play in them for days! They probably don’t ship them in those large boxes anymore but if one ever becomes available….Grab it! The chimps will love it!
