Choices

July 25, 2011 by Debbie

Sanctuary is all about making choices. Some choose to nap, and some choose to play!

lol, that was so much fun to watch, Annie and Missy seem to really love each other. who was that fell off the platform? Is that Jody asleep in front of them?

Yes, that is Jody sleeping in front of the playful activity. Missy is the one who fell off the platform. If you watch closely, you’ll see that Jody woke up a little when Missy fell – she was startled!

I swear, I think a train could roll through and Jody wouldn’t wake up, she does love her naps. Theresa mentioned, a few days ago, about how relaxed they are and it’s because they know they’re safe from harm. I agree with Theresa and I’ve noticed that a lot this year because they are so much more relaxed. When I saw how closely the girls were playing next to Jody and Jody didn’t bat an eyelash I thought of Theresa’s observation.

Thank you, Candy. They are smart people. They know they are loved and safe and it literally soothes my soul to see them so relaxed and happy. CSNW focuses on making their lives the best they absolutely can and more importantly, they show each one love and respect for their individuality. The changes in the 7 over the last few years have been incredible. The 7 know they are home, safe and loved. After being on edge for years not knowing when they would be hurt again they know these caregivers truly are the best of people. Now they are relaxing and enjoying the safety of sanctuary. God Bless the staff and volunteers of CSNW. Now we have to fight hard for the others that desperately need a safe, loving sanctuary where they will be treated with the respect and dignity they deserved all along.

That was a treat to watch. I loved the laughing but my favorite part was Annie poking Missy in the but through the boards of the deck. I was laughing out loud. Oh those two girls so enjoy playing together. Thank you Debbie.
