Negra rice cake face

“Diane and Syd Marcus are awesome” Party

May 17, 2011 by Jackie

Diane and Syd Marcus sent us some fabulous goodies for Jody’s Birthday Party, but unfortunately we didn’t get them until after the big day. As a compromise, today we held a “Diane and Syd are awesome” Party. Let me explain:

Diane and Syd frequently send the chimps goodies and each time there is one hand-picked and individually wrapped thing for each chimp, along with a note to whom it belongs to. Among the gifts this time– a stuffed animal for Jody, a popper toy for Burrito, a silky scarf for Annie, a toolbox for Jamie, socks and a beaded necklace for Missy, a troll doll for Foxie, and both Foxie and Negra got something extra special– several months ago, Diane and Syd sent a monogrammed Winnie the Pooh blanket for Negra. It was adorable and Negra actually seems to like it! This time, Diane and Syd had a king sized blanket monogrammed for her! They also sent a small monogrammed blanket for Foxie. Here’s their note to Foxie:

Darling Foxie,
We were overjoyed to see you reaching for blankets. You are not only a troll collectrice extraordinaire, but also a nest maker par excellence. And a beautiful peacekeeper. What a girl!!

We chose this blanket because it is a girlie girl blanket- which is what you are. Red and pink are your colors. Snuggle with it when you wish– you can do a few lovely flips.

Of course, we have also enclosed something else. No present to you would be complete without one.

You are a very special and lovely girl.

We are so fortunate to have such lovely supporters like Diane and Syd Marcus who light up the chimps’ day. The party was excellent, as always!

First, a video:

Negra was super happy about the rice cakes Diane and Syd sent:

They also sent some blueberry tea, which was a big hit. Here’s Missy enjoying a glass:

Jody checking out the beaded necklaces:

Jamie and her tools:

A super relaxed, post-party Burrito:

Thanks so much to Diane and Syd for the lovely gifts, and for all of you who send such wonderful enrichment for the chimps!

Thank you Diane and Syd. You are absolutely awesome!!! I was so touched to see the blankets and again to see Foxie with her new baby troll doll. It was Jamie and her Tool Box that made me lose it though and if Jody gets in on the act, look out LOL. Jamie is going to be the reason you need a Handy Man & the one who fixes the problem hahaha. Absolutely love it~~!!!!

I am so in “awe” of the supporters of the sancturay and the CE7. Everyone is so intune with the likes and disikes of everyone. I am so horored to be a part of this group.

Denice, I feel the same way about the supporters & Syd and Diane, you’re simply the best. I had an “aah” moment when I saw Foxie bring her new baby straight to her chest for a cuddle. I am in awe when the chimps know which gifts are for them.

Marie, I think Jamie would quickly take over any jobs from JB and she’d do it her way.

Watching them enjoy their gifts is so heartwarming. The note to Foxie is precious. Sid and Diane, thank you for enriching the lives of the 7 and picking out a special gift for each one of them. This video is truly touching! The chimps are extrordinary people and they have the most wonderful supporters who love them.

Wow, Diane and Syd, that was awesome! What thoughtful gifts. It was so fun to watch everyone enjoy each of them. And of course, my favorite of the day was Foxie with her new troll. The way she cuddles and caressess those dolls just warms my heart.
Jackie, thanks for the video and photos. I particularly liked Burrito’s end of the day relaxation pose. Everyone is terrific!!!

Diane and Syd, what lovely people you are! It must warm your hearts to see these adorable chimps enjoying the presents you sent so much and I just loved, loved, loved the note you sent to Foxie. You two really are awesome and it’s just so heartwarming to know that people like you and the wonderful caregivers (and fantastic photographers!) exist. Of course it’s all about these adorable chimps – the incredbile Che Elum Seven but with caregivers and chimp friends like all of you so many more people get SO much more pleasure and joy from Annie, Burrito, Foxie, Jamie, Jody, Missy, and Queen Negra! Lots of love and good wishes to all of you.x x x

That was awesome, thanks to Diane and Syd for sending such great gifts. I especially love the shots of Jamie (with her boot safely stashed in her pocket) and Foxie with her new doll. Love them all.
