You can’t always get what you want

December 1, 2010 by Elizabeth

Burrito and Foxie are great friends, but sometimes friends just aren’t in the mood to play when you are.

Mr. B, I’m proud of you for trying to play with Foxie a little more, was that his laughter I heard? It’s fun to watch Mr. B in such a playful mood.

You can always see how gentle Foxie is with her trolls, I love that she has the doll facing her and rubs the doll on her arm. I know we keep saying this, but she would have been one terrific Mom.

      Yes, that was Burrito laughing.

Awwww….Burrito is such a sweetheart! He was persistent but gentle about trying to convince Foxie to play.

I love Burrito’s chin rubbing. “Hmmm, what should I do next to get her to play?” ….and the toe tapping at the very end.

unlike many of us (hmmm, me) foxie did not fall under the spell of a cute fella whose antics you fall for then become tiresome later on (oops, perhaps to much information) … well, i thought he was the bees knees, the cats meow, the cutest boy ape in the room … i am still a push-over (even if he IS the only boy ape in the room)

I keep wanting to “like” people’s comments. Too much time on Facebook, I guess. But I do really like this comment, Leslie.

Another woman in Alabama has fallen under his spell too….LOL! I love Mr. B and can just look at that handsome face all the time. I love his playful side and seeing it come out more and more just warms my heart.

You all now how I love chimp laughter, but nothing is better than hearing it come from Mr. B! That was so sweet. He tried so hard to get her to play. Great effort Mr. B!! Of course you could have just a video of his face for 2 minutes and I’d be happy!!

So it’s not just me I see. I just love Burrito. It made me so happy so see him playing & the chin rubbing was priceless. Watching these chimpanzees learn to relax & be happy is so heartwarming. I wish it was so for all the chimps that are confined where they shouldn’t be. And yes, Foxie would have been a wonderful mother. It kills me to think of the emotional trauma to both the mamas and the babies that were basically kidnapped from them. Thank you to the caregivers and contributors that make this sanctuary a reality.

i loved this ! Mr B really does have the sweetest face i adore love his lovely speckled chin ! i love the Foxie way of thinking ( if i dont look at him he A = maybe cant see me B = he will go away ! ) this always makes me laugh when you see a chimp eating and another one is about 1cm away from their face begging , and they just wont look at them !

i did smile at all the trolls surrounding Foxie , does she prefer trolls with hair or does she not mind a scalped troll i wonder !

Foxie loves all trolls unconditionally, though she does get pretty excited when we get new trolls donated that still have their hair. 🙂

    Elizabeth,

Does Foxie like regular dolls & stuff animals too or just her troll dolls? Thanks, Amy

    • Diana says

Hi Amy – I thought I would answer for Elizabeth since I was here. Foxie prefers hard dolls. There have been a few non-troll dolls that she likes. Recently someone donated some hard plastic action figure type dolls and Foxie carries them around too. She does not like stuffed animals for the most part. In fact, when we’ve given the chimps stuffed animal chimpanzees, Jody and Foxie have teamed up and ripped them apart very aggressively.

lol girl power ! id imagine hard dolls are easier for her carry around in her mouth and hands and feet also xxx
