Way, way Out of the Box

October 3, 2010 by Diana

We had an incredible evening on Friday. The volunteers did a fantastic job and the attendees clearly had a great time bidding.

The Out of the Box auction so far has raised over $100,000

and the online auction continues to go strong – currently at $14,400.

More soon about the event – I just wanted to share the incredible news of the success of the evening and the online auction so far.  Thank you, everyone, for your participation, and an especially big thank you to all of the volunteers, donors and sponsors who made the event possible. I am so full of gratitude for everyone’s generosity. Wow.

It certainly is Jeani, a fantastic amount raised and potential for a lot more from the auction. It must be rewarding for everybody involved with the organising to see what a success it has been. Well done to you all.

And thank you, Jeani, for making our tables the MOST FUN!! Jeani and I made “night bags” with a few extra goodies for each of our tablemates (her idea!). I was in tears several times that evening and continue to be in awe of everyone’s generosity. Young’s Hill will happen in style!!

I just got an email from our table spotter, Donna.(and it brought tears to my eyes.) I gave her a night bag and she wrote and told me she opened it in bed at 12:30 and knew what the chimps felt like when they open theirs each night. She really enjoyed the goodies. She also forgot about her throbbing feet! I never dreamed it would mean that much to everyone. Thank you to all for all your contributions. It was one successful evening!!!!!

Jeani, What a fabulous idea!!! Night bags for everyone at your tables….I LOVE it!!! The auction was such an exciting, emotional, and special evening! Jamie, Missy, Annie, Burrito, Foxie, Jody and Negra mean so much to all of us, and it’s heartwarming to know that there are so many wonderful, generous people who attended the auction and made the dream of Young’s Hill a reality! You could feel the love! I just can’t wait to see the chimps running and playing there!!

I wasn’t able to attend, but can say with all certainty that I am proud to be associated with CSNW. It’s staff, caregivers and volunteers are 2nd to none!!

The chimps were truly blessed the day you came into their lives!!

Keith, Sarah, JB and Diana — thank YOU for giving so many people an opportunity to participate, in some small way, in what you are giving your lives to: hope, love, home … sanctuary for the Cle Elim Seven. It’s a joy to be a part of it.

It is obvious that Sarah, Keith, J.B. and Diana are among the most dedicated, hardworking and effective staffers in animal welfare today. I am so glad that I am able to support your efforts financially.

I dream on about helping the other chimps who remain in cages…
