Fourth of July Celebration

July 5, 2010 by Jackie

Yesterday got a little hectic, as often happens when working with chimps, so we decided to postpone our Fourth of July Celebration until today. Brandon Wood (check out his blog!), our amazing 9-year-old supporter, sponsored our party in honor of supporter Theresa Strunk’s birthday (surprise, Theresa!). He sent this awesome box of goodies for the party.

We feel horrible we couldn’t do the party on her actual birthday, but hopefully we’re making up for it now! It was a great party!

For the forage, we set out blue cups filled with red Gatorade and soy milk (red, white, and blue!)

And Brandon found this awesome Elmo pinata, which we filled with cherries and nuts!

…which Jamie, of course, thoroughly enjoyed!

But Jody managed to steal a few of the last bites. 🙂

Brandon also sent several Kong toys, which I filled with peanut butter. Annie LOVED it!

Thanks again, Brandon! And Happy (belated) Birthday, Theresa!! 🙂

So fun to see all the awesome stuff Brandon sent, thanks for so artfully displaying it all for us, Jackie!

Love to see those happy chimps…. 🙂

What a great great kid you are Brandon. Thank you on behalf of the Cle Elum Seven. I know they had a wonderful day. Isn’t it a great feeling when you do something that makes them happy? Happy birthday, Theresa! I am sure you are thrilled with your gift from Brandon. (Your parents must be the best too!)

Woot! Well done, young Brandon! You are a true chimp ambassador. And there’s no one more deserving than Theresa who has a pure genuine love for the chimps. Love to all at Cle Elum! You sure know how to throw a party! 🙂

How wonderful of Brandon, I’m sure it warmed Theresa’s heart and it’s obvious the chimps enjoyed everything. Happy Birthday Theresa and thank you Brandon!

I am speechless! Brandon is my true chimp buddy and the greatest kid ever. He shares a pure love of chimps from his heart and is doing a superb job making others aware of their plight. He is the future of conservation. This is the absolute best gift ever! Love you, buddy!
Thank you, CSNW for the great videos. Seeing the chimps enjoy the day makes me so very happy.
