You may have noticed in the video posted previously that we’ve been keeping a secret from you.
On Friday, we replaced three caged windows with clear chimp-proof glass. Thanks to a generous donation from LUSH for two of the windows:
And Anna Kircher and fellow blog readers for the third window (view of the garden!)
If you received the e-newsletter sent out earlier today, you saw photos of Negra’s view and her sitting in one of the windows upstairs.
Here’s a photo of Jody taking a peak out the blog reader’s window downstairs:
and Jamie cleaning the window (apparently we forgot to complete the installation with a wipe-down using a sock):
We’ll be installing four more new windows soon thanks to everyone who donated between March 17th and today for our 2nd Anniversary Fundraising.
We’ll share the final fundraising amount and who raised the most early this week. Thanks, everyone for helping us exceed our goal!!
Wow and sneaky, sneaky, sneaky!!! The picture windows have arrived, I’m shocked you all snuck those in. I just thought you all were busy because of the anniversary party and didn’t have time to post videos. Well, you were busy, they looked fantastic. The vine between the two windows on the catwalk is very beautiful, the artwork has help up very well over two years. I think the chimpanzees will be fascinated with the new windows for a quite some time. The LUSH window(s) have a brilliant view and Anna & Company’s window of the garden is a dream come true. HAPPY SECOND ANNIVERSARY!!!
Seeing them enjoy the windows is a dream come true. It just warms my heart. What a wonderful, wonderful, surprise!
What a perfect birthday present for sweet Negra!
How in the world did you keep it form us for so long. I’m there twice a week and the minute I take two day’s off to go camping you pull a great stunt like replacing windows.
Love you all
~~Woohoooo!~~
How fabulous to see! And it’s fun that you picked key views to start with. 🙂
Many, many, many thanks to all the others who contributed to the garden window – at a time of year when funds aren’t always easy to come by. And HUGE thanks to all the folks who made the rest of the windows possible as well!
Do the chimps show any preference for looking through the cageles windows? Were they excited?
