Rainy Day Enrichment

September 6, 2009 by Jackie

It is a rainy day today, so to entertain the chimps, we gave them toothbrushes. The activity may have been more appropriately called toothbrush sucking than toothbrushing, since most of the chimps were more interested in the toothpaste than in brushing their teeth. However, I was able to get a quick brush of Foxie’s teeth. I would say the chimps were pretty enriched!

Did you all show them first? I can see all the sanctuary staff standing outside brushing their teeth in unison 🙂 Seriously, would the chimps mimic you if they saw the humans doing it?
