Lettuce bonanza

September 14, 2009 by Sarah

Jackie threw whole heads of lettuce on top of the enclosure tonight as part of dinner. If you know Negra, you probably know two things: first, she is not exactly the ‘athletic’ type. Second, she LOVES lettuce. So, we were very impressed when we saw her climb up and dangle from the tippy-top of the enclosure to get her head of lettuce! In the second part of this video you’ll see Missy doing the same thing, but with a bigger payoff. At the end it looks like she doesn’t quite know how to drop down to the platform without dropping her haul!

How wonderful to see Negra swinging like that! Good for you, Negra! And the head of lettuce hunt idea is a great one!

Another brilliant idea!! And it looks like everyone really enjoyed it. I knew Negra was a “swinger” from the moment I laid eyes on her : )

Jackie what a great idea! Seeing Negra up there brought a smile to my face. I hope Missy was able to enjoy her three heads of lettuce. Of course, amongst the green I saw the pink hair of the troll doll.

Way to go Negra!! Where there’s a will there’s a way, isn’t there Negra? Missy you are a riot. I saw the pink troll, too, and thought it is a good thing Foxie doesn’t like lettuce or Missy would really be in trouble. Thanks for the great video, Jackie and Sarah.

*chortle* How cute! Those opposable toes come in really handy at times. 🙂

I have to make another comment, I just watched the video again and it looked like the wind was making Negra sway about while hanging from the top.
