The other day Missy was grooming a small scrape on her back with a piece of bark. Chimps love to groom injuries, so if no one else was going to help her, Missy was going to find a way to do it herself.
For Negra, it’s never too warm for a blanket. I think she just feels more secure when she’s wrapped up in something.
Beautiful photos, as always. We have seen such change in our chimpanzees over this their first year. Imagine what we will see over their second year. Will Negra feel secure enough to go without a blanket in the hot weather? WIll Foxie be able to spend some time without a troll? What will happen? Aren’t we fortunate to be able to be supports for them?
Missy needs a back scratcher…lol. I agree that they have changed much over their first year. Their eyes are now bright, their coat is healthy, they are playful, and they haven’t been poked or prodded. I feel honored to be able to see the pictures and videos of them and hear about their progress. I am truly honored that I can help support what Keith started. I can’t say it enough…thank you all for your care of our seven and for sharing it with us!
Negra always looks so comfy and content in her blanket. It breaks my heart that she went for so many years without one to wrap up in. I think all of us in the CSNW family have had a successful year in trying to make it up to all of them for the mistreatment in their previous lives.
Beautiful dignified Negra looks like royalty in her cape.
