Spring!

April 7, 2009 by J.B.

Finally! Here are a few shots of the chimps enjoying the beautiful weather. It’s been right in Negra’s “sweet spot” – between 65 and 75 degrees – so she’s been outside a lot.

We had a forage outside for lunch – lots of broccoli, cauliflower, and peppers. The last photo is of Foxie with a “whimper face”. I’m not sure what she was whimpering about; she probably lost one of her trolls for a moment.

J.B. have your photography skills always been this good? Maybe it’s your subjects that have brought out your skill. You get such great shots, I’m impressed. I think you should enter your photos into photography contests. Also, if there’s a state fair in your area you should enter them, not only would I think you’d win it’d be great publicity for CSNW. By the way, that picture of Foxie’s whimper face is going on my desktop.

Love the picture with both hands full of broccoli (as well as the others of course!). It’s now the new wallpaper on my PC!!

Another comment. I agree with Linda on the “hands full of broccoli” especially the green contrasting with the blackness of Annie’s skin. Beautiful.

I agree with Linda and Candace. These photos are great, JB. If you enter them in the county fair it would also gain a lot of publicity!! Foxie’s whimper face is definitely going on my desktop.

Something so simple — handfuls of veggies in the sunshine — brings tears to my eyes. (Oh no, that doesn’t sound too much like a John Denver song, does it??)

I’m with you, Amy ~ seeing the chimps bathed in sunlight and eating good food is still so moving to me. Don’t think I’ll ever take that sight for granted. Thank you, J.B., for sharing these very special photos.

What poignant pictures J.B. You are indeed an exceptional photographer. Your subjects are also exceptional! What beautiful chimps they have become. Thanks to good care and good food. You should all give yourselves a kudos!

Foxie is getting more animated as time goes on. I appreciate knowing that expression is a “whimper”, even though it’s a beautiful shot of her. One of my favorites. And I’m with Negra – perfect temps are between 65-75!
