Mirror, mirror on the wall…

January 11, 2009 by Diana

J.B. hung the mirror today in the playroom that the blog/forum participants purchased for the Cle Elum Seven. The chimpanzees love it! Jamie was pretty intent on figuring out how to remove it from the wall, so J.B. put a frame around it at the end of the day. Below is a video and photos of their first inspections and reflections.

It reminds me of the commercial “Your pet knows when it looks good”. I think it’s for Petco or Petsmart with the dog running after a ball and checking it’s self out in the mirror on the way by. Looks like it was a big hit with them.

JB, I’m impressed with your building skills and knowledge but my money is on Jamie (please no offense intended).

Love, Love , Love it! The pics and video are great. It looks like Foxie is giving the mirror a troll blessing at the end. 🙂

silly me, in the video I thought Jamie was bringing over the toy to see herself playing with it – but she brought it over to use as a demolition tool – ha! Go Jamie!

glad you put a frame over it .. the sight of her using her teeth to pry up the screws made me cringe – yikes!

hats off to everyone who contributed towards the purchase of this mirror!

I love it! They sure are liking what they see. I’m sure they will get hours of enjoyment from the mirror. JB, I sure hope those are long screws you put in that mirror with our Jamie around. She does love to fix things….LOL.

So now I’ll be watching for a post of Jamie in one of her girlie outfits looking at herself in front of the mirror! 😉 Can’t help but wonder whether the females are “self-critical” and if Burrito’s thinking “I’m such a stud!” lol!

Do you notice how serious and purposeful Jamie’s walk is? It’s as though she understands the full gravity and difficulty of the task that awaits her — freeing the mirror from the wall.

Thank you so much, Tamela, for suggesting the large mirror!! They obviously love it!!! What a great idea to give them the choice to be able to see themselves whenever they want to! It’s fun to see that it makes them happy! 🙂

Leave it to Jamie to be more interested in how it’s hanging on the wall, than looking at herself. I loved it when Foxie held up her troll doll in the mirror. I think this mirror will give them great joy, way to go Tamela and the others who contributed.

Love the photos…is that the same troll from Christmas…and she still has her bright pink hair??? Were you able to give Foxie the other larger troll I sent, I know she was not 100 % hard plastic so I was wondering if she was able to play with it, I just bought them for her because they were bigger then the usual trolls!

Yes, the mirror is great! Great idea Tamela! As I said on the other blog, we saw it in action yesterday. The best part for me was seeing Jamie polish it with a cloth……this was after J.B. had put the frame around it. J.B. said that Jamie was watching him install it as if figuring out how she was going to get it off the wall! Such a gal.
