Happy Holidays to all from the CCCs!

December 24, 2008 by Diana

(Note: This a message and photos from the enrichment party a few weeks ago!)

It’s been so great this year for all of us to have been drawn together by such a wonderful group of chimp people!

So take a little time this season to indulge your inner chimp –

  • grunt happily for good fod
  • make a mess and enjoy every minute of it
  • hug and kiss god friends
  • spray water on your neigbors
  • adopt a troll (or a dozen)
  • unselfconsciously wear a tutu
  • run thru the house wreaking havoc all the while looking totally innocent
  • try a backflip (!?!) with total abandon out of sheer joy

And thank our ape brothers and sisters for their lessons about resilience and what’s really important in life!

To everyone out there have a –

Merry Christmas
Happy Hanukah
Great New Year
and a swift return of the light!!!

Yes! We all had a great time as you can see from the pictures. I thought it was rather nice of the chimps to send snow over to the west side of the mountains. They were obviously having so much fun they decided to share. Thanks to our wonderful chimp family for your generosity but I think we have enjoyed it long enough!! LOL
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone and I hope you have a fun holiday and a great New Year, although this year has been pretty terrific thanks to our new family of chimps, CCCs, volunteers, and especially to the caregivers, Diana, JB, Keith, and Sarah.
Has anyone built a snowchimp? If so we have to have a picture!

I volunteered this am and after cleaning Keith asked if I would help wrap presents. Of course I said “sure”. Sarah and Keith starting hauling, yes hauling in basket after basket, box after box, and sack after sack into the kitchen area from the storage shed. After my initial shock of how much was there Sarah and I got busy and started to organize and wrap. We didn’t wrap everything but what wasn’t wrapped will still be put out for the group. I have never seen so many presents in all my life.

The chimps are going to have a very good day tomorrow. I can just imagine the squeals of excitement once they are able to get to all the gifts.

My thanks to all who spent time, energy and thought to giving to the Cle Elum 7 this holiday season.

Oh I CAN”T WAIT to see images of our Cle Elum Seven’s first Xmas! What FUN! They don’t know what is in store for them! How wonderful to make them so happy. Thanks for telling us about this, Denise.

Thank you Denise. I was supposed to be there today but had to enjoy the snow on this side of the mountains. I had a big grin on my face as you were describing today’s wrapping. I am so excited to hear all about their morning!!! Like Margaret, I can’t wait either. Right now I am imagining the excitement by both chimps and humans alike come morning. So did a chimney painted on a wall or are the chimps wondering if Santa will come? LOL
I for one thoroughly enjoyed getting Christmas morning ready for our chimp family. We had so much fun I don’t want to wait for another holiday!

Merry Christmas to all …..and thank you to the staff @ CSNW for taking such wonderful care of Annie, Burrito, Foxie, Jamie, Jodi, Negra and Missy. JB did share one little secret about tomorrow morning and I cannot wait to see the excitement in the seven. I received my package today, thank you Diana, JB, Sarah and Keith, I hope my box arrived in time!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thanks for the post, thanks for all the wrapping. My Christmas morning present will be watching the chimps enjoying theirs. Good job wrapping Denice, wish we could all be there helping.

What a great tradition for the chimps to experience. Next year they will be expecting it!!!!

Have a wonderful first Christmas with our favorite new friends!!

Happy solstice and all good wishes for the new year from me (Karen). This year has been hard for so many however it has been wonderful to have come to know so many new good friends og two species. A wonderful, enduring and unexpected joy. And, of course, the wonderful experience of having something so very good come out of the animal rights movement were so much is tragic. Greeting to all for now. Thanks to every one and special thanks to the beautiful, dedicated staff members for all that you do. You are so good at enriching us.

I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of the chimps having their first Christmas. Lucky you Denice! I would love to be there wrapping gifts for those precious seven! I don’t think anyone realized how big an impact the rescue of seven chimpanzees would have on so many people. The Cle Elum Seven and the staff at CSNW have brought so many people together and touched so many hearts! Even in hard times I can come to the blog and get a smile while reading or viewing pictures or videos of the chimps. To see them thriving and healthy after being subjected to such horrible things for so many years lightens my heart and whatever burdens I might be carrying. They inspire hope for all animals and humans and with this world as it is now, hope is sorely needed.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy 2009!
