Foxie Challenges Diana to a Clap-Off

October 5, 2008 by J.B.

Those of you that read this blog regularly know that Foxie has been coming out of her shell. Every day now she seems a little more playful, and this huge personality is emerging from a formerly reserved and guarded chimpanzee.

My favorite part of this video is when Foxie does a “pirhouette”, a behavior more often seen in juvenile chimpanzee play. The “new” Foxie does seem younger.

I love it!!! She is getting younger by the day! I guess the way I look at it is if I were in a prison or in an institution for my life, I would be lucky to come out sane, same with the seven ,thank GOD, they have came out of the ordeal able to grow and become who they should have been for decades, it is so hard to say decades…..it had been a LONG LONG time! And for those still locked up in these institutions, I pray for you daily, that one day soon you will be able to regain your self in a sanctuary the CSNW, where you are loved!!!!

Oh, where to start??! Foxie’s grin, her pirhouette, her obvious joy…

And my compliments to the Sanctuary staff for installing the troll doll holder… 🙂

What a happy play face too!! What a great mom she would have been, so much desire to playfully interact. How lucky she is to finally be in a situation she trusts and can let her real self come out of her shell. We are so lucky to be a part of seeing what time, love and freedom can do for all souls.

It is such a joy to know that Foxie is gradually coming to believe that her hard times are over. I wish I could give her Africa!! I wish I could give her the African trees of home—but since nobody can we can all give her the best that human minds and hands can give. Love, security, safty, peace and predictability. My oh my what human beings owe her.

How much FUN is it to see Foxie girl enjoying herself so much!!!!!! Just the GREATEST. The pirhouette is kind of like listening to them laugh ~ when I witness the chimps experiencing joy like that, I can tell you, that’s when I’m in sheer heaven.

Margaret and Karen, your post is just so sweet…..you wish you could give them Africa….bless you.

Oh I love it! And every time I play it or just think about the joy of Foxie it makes me laugh and gives me a smile. How wonderful to be able to interact in such a way with them where they are comfortable and wanting to interact as well.
You all have done wonders! Thank you!
