Born 1990 in a laboratory. Actual birthday: June 13th – the same day we celebrate Negra‘s birthday!

When Wildlife Waystation closed in 2019, Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest continued our planned expansion to make a home for another group of chimpanzees in need. Terry arrived with the rest of the “Lucky Six” on June 26, 2021. The Lucky Six were integrated with Honey B, Willy B, and Mave in April of 2022 and now live together in a group of nine.

Terry was born at the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery in Primates (LEMSIP). His records say that his father was possibly Conrad and his mother was Carrie.

When LEMSIP closed in 1996, Terry went to Wildlife Waystation along with over 30 other chimpanzees.

Terry is a big guy who likes hanging out with Cy, another big guy in his group. Terry is constantly trying to get the attention of his caregivers by making “bronx cheers” or “raspberries”. This is a common attention-getting noise, but Terry has his own unique spin on it because his lips go sideways when he pushes them together to make the noise – it’s very charming. He loves to groom his caregivers boots and to get drinks of water from the hose!

Become Terry’s Pal today! Terry currently has 6 Pals!
