The Full Bray

March 30, 2026 by J.B.

She did it again! This time with no hesitation at all. And not just the top of the hill but the Full Bray. Now Mave has explored every inch of the Bray and has climbed every structure (if only to lay down immediately—hey, she deserves a rest!).

So much courage to do that after so long! I’ve lost count, J.B…….is there anyone who still hasn’t ventured outdoors yet?

      Just Dora, I think!

Yes, I realised after I posted I’d never seen little Dora but now with her best pal out there, she may try it too.

But they’re in different groups, so unless Dora is visiting, they won’t be outside on the break at the same time

Dora is the only one who doesn’t regularly go outside. Hopefully she will when Mave is visiting her and vice versa. Honey B had still not gone to the top of the hill, as far as I know.

JB, do you think you could ever swap Dora and Mave so that Honey B wouldn’t be alone, but Mave could explore with friends? or is it wishful thinking to think you could have Dora come over for a visit and made with leave?

    • Linda C says

      March 31, 2026 at 6:23 pm

Sorry, the end of that was supposed to be “that Mave would leave?”

Unfortunately, Willy hasn’t been treating Dora well when she visits so we don’t have plans to do that regularly.

        aaagh! That man! :rage:
I feel bad that Mave has such a limited friend group!

That’s not just about Mave. That’s about you! Look what you’ve done! “You” being the loving and caring personnel of CSNW

When she turned around to look I don’t know if she was watching to see who was following her or if she wanted to say. “watch me go all the way now.”

Marvelous Mave. She keeps living up to her name! How long was Mave outside total? It seems like it was a very long adventure and she was taking it all in on her own sweet time. It’s just truly wonderful isn’t it? Too bad this big moment was interrupted. But then again, it was Mave‘s choice to go in and check on her friend Willy B.

Mave is so brave! Great to see her expanding her enrichment. They all deserve it so much. Do any of them climb the trees our on the Bray? I see them climb the apparatus but havent seen any of them up a tree. Or are the trees outside the fence line and I cant tell from the camera angles?

    • J.B. says

The Bray doesn’t contain any mature trees (the hillside was too steep to fence in). There is one pine tree that is about 20′ tall but probably not much fun to climb. Even on the other side, on Young’s Hill where there are 80′ trees, the chimps don’t care to climb them.

I think the trees inside the Bray aren’t yet big enough to climb, I could be wrong
