Party of Five

January 5, 2026 by J.B.

George has the beginnings of a nice little family, now. We added Lucky last Wednesday and it was remarkably uneventful (unlike Terry’s first day). George is getting more confident but still playing it cautiously around the other chimps and taking his cues from Cy, which is all we can ask for at this point. With some milder temps and sunny skies, the gang got to spend some quality time on the Bray. Terry and George took several walks to the top of the hill together (with Terry beating his chest for the girls on the other side) and everyone got their fill of snow and ice.

Dora and Gordo will be getting lonely soon!
Glad to hear it was uneventful.
It seemed to me that, when Lucky approached (was this morning?), George glanced over to Cy. Did I see that wrong?
And it’s so encouraging to see George head up the bray in the company of Terry!

Thanks J.B. for the great video. It seems that everyone wants to be George’s friend. I think little Dora wants to join the Girls club (+Willy B ) She must miss them :revolving_hearts:

I was thinking the same thing; could Gordo and Dora become part of WB, HB, and Mave’s group?
I do not remember though if WB had many scafuffels with Gordo??

Willy B and Gordo/Terry are the reason they were doing (and will continue, once George is habituated) the reintroduction.
When Willy wants chaos at 3pm, he picks on either Gordo or Terry to get it rolling. Gordo specifically isn’t 100% comfortable with him. Soon, hopefully.

This is a wonderful video! I am in love with George and Cy. Both are awesome chimps and I love Cy for protecting George. We all need a friend like Cy. I am so proud of George and the great job he is doing with introductions and i admire his adventurous spirit!. Look at him go outdoors! He is amazing condidering his history. How lucky that he landed at CSNW! I need to sponsor George!

This is so exciting! Lucky Ms. Lucky to be a member of the George Club. Oh George, my heart just grew four sizes and is ready to burst with joy over the new life you are living! And what a beautiful day for everyone to be outside, enjoying their ice snickity-snacks together.

I know us bloglanders have not seen the conflicts that have arisen with the formation of George’s family, but I am
so pleased and warm-hearted to see this group of chimpanzees uniting. I am so happy for George because until now he did not experience family life. I am equally happy for George’s new family members who get to experience a new member in their fold. What a beautiful building up of all that is good for these souls. Thank you CSNW staff for making and allowing this to happen.

It is wonderful to see how quickly George is fitting into real chimp life with real chimp friends. Bravo to everyone at CSNW (humans and non) for helping George find a new way to enjoy life his life.
