George and Terry meet again!

September 18, 2025 by Anna

George’s introduction to Cy’s group continues on as he works to build a relationship with each member individually before moving on to the next step of the process. So far, George seems most playful and comfortable with the other males he has spent time with.  Here are a few moments from his 4th intro with Terry last week.

I love Terry’s personal twist on Gordo’s bunny hops! A pushup hop!
George looks so small next to our gentle giant meatball!

It’s exciting and sweet to see George’s world expanding. I hope he was taking notes on how to do the Terry Hop properly! The constant laughter speaks for itself. Keep up the great work everyone!

Aw. Terry was the sweetest! Laying low to appear less intimidating. Encouraging George to play. Even brought out a little of his inner Gordo LOL. Any grooming going on? Grooming is currency and George needs some bank! perhaps when he’s with a group he’ll understand the value of grooming.

It’s always a treat to see them play. I wonder if the older female chimpanzee (who was with George in the old, unhealthy place) mistreated or pushed George away, and perhaps that’s why he’s more relaxed with the males so far. Maybe it’s a bit of caution and fear with unpredictable females.
