A Day Full of Laughs and Little Moments

May 28, 2025 by Kelsi

Today was a pretty busy day for humans and non-humans! As you will see in the video, there is not better way to pass the time than playing and spending quality time with an old friend. Foxie and Burrito spent quite a bit of time laughing and playing with each other while we cleaned their Playroom. Their friendship always warms my heart. Meanwhile, on the other side of the building, George had an exciting moment, received access to the chute again! Click here to watch the video of George using the chute for the first time! It was a big spectacle, especially for  Cy’s group, who had the best view and were very curious observers.

I’ll be honest, it was a bit noisy throughout the chimp house today (but hey, that’s life with chimps!). Eventually, things settled down, and George got to enjoy some peaceful solo exploration of the chute. Every day brings something new, and today was full of connection, curiosity, and a little bit of chaos—the best kind.

Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh it’s fun hearing George’s food squeaks for the first time! He has quite a low tone with a little high-pitched squeak every once in a while. Love it! Yes, he definitely loves the grapes! Still smilin.

And Foxie held onto that doll through the whole play session!

I second your statement. The two of you will need to meet for lunch.

I do enjoy seeing these two old friends having fun together. Burrito always looks so happy he could burst! How does he manage to find the time to play so much?! There’s Foxie, Negra, add in an occasional play session (and his patrols) with Jamie, and tug and chase games with the caregivers—amazing he can find time to eat! He’s Mr. Popular.

Cy’s reading position is too much. And nice to see George may be following in Cy’s footsteps. Those bonobo books are a favorite with everyone! But the real treat seemed to be the grapes!! Moans of approval from George. Thanks for capturing that.

Are George’s quick steps at the end of display different from what the others do? I don’t think I’ve seen that before…

      Mo, i’ll take a shot… I think it’s common. I know I’ve seen it several times.

Thanks, Paulette. I did see a hint of it on another post since this.

Those grapes looked yummy and judging by George’s food grunts, they were. I too hope in the future Cy will invite George to see his library. and introduce him to Mr.Tucci.
