PRT with Rayne and Dora

February 5, 2025 by Jenna

Rayne and Dora are due for an exam in 2025 so we have started to focus on their injection training during Positive Reinforcement Training (PRT). Both of the girls have their “arm” behavior down already (despite what Dora showed in the video) so they already are comfortable presenting for a practice injection. However, we will need to continue working on hold times with both of them so they don’t pull away as soon as the needle touches their skin.

As you will see in today’s video, Dora was not interested in participating today. She was interested in the reinforcements I brought (some juice and craisins), but didn’t want to present much for the behaviors I was asking for. We want her to want to participate – so it’s totally okay! We will continue training with her so she has plenty of opportunities to practice.

Well, at least Willie B’s displays don’t seem to be aimed at anyone in particular.
    Dora is still too cute!

Rayne is so dear, checking out the spot where the fake injection touched her. Today, the fun part of PRT for Dora was the special reward drink! She is so cute. Clearly she finds the experience fun so you’re more than halfway there!

And it’s nice to see Willy B participating in your PRT session by entertaining everyone. Let’s face it, we all need an intermission break every now and then.

Raynee and Cy really enjoyed doing it! (reward snacks are only the cherry on the top of the cake!)

I wonder if Willie B is jealous of the attention?

Dora’s head shake is so cute! She definitely lets you know when she’s saying no!
