For many years now, Dylan Most has so wonderfully been sponsoring this day each year to help the chimpanzees and bovines welcome the summer solstice! It’s hard to imagine a time when the chimpanzees were completely unaware of the passing of seasons, perhaps even the existence of an outdoor world. This is a beautiful honoring of the chimpanzees being able to enjoy not only the seasons of each passing year, but the seasons of their lives, which thanks to gifts like this, are endlessly rich and full. I used to live in a town that threw an enormous parade in honor of the arrival of summer solstice. My friends and I marched, deck-out in crazy costumes, many a year in this wonderful celebration. This is one of my favorite days! Thank you, Dylan, for honoring the chimps and the magical experiences they will have during this season.
