A Chimpanzee and her Library

March 24, 2024 by Diana

As Sabrina said yesterday, sanctuary is often all about enjoying the small things.

For Jamie, having a LOT of small things gives her even more enjoyment 🙂

Humans could iearn a lesson on small things. Live in a smaller home, drive a smaller car or ride a big bus, eat a smaller plate of food. Save the planet for ourselves and others.

Some days it’s easier to take pleasure in the crazy things that happen on that big bus or train than others, Gayle!

        Sorry, Gaynell

So a chimp should never be a pet; but, having had it as a pet, it’s unconscionable to surrender or sell it to a lab!

I think a BIG joy, for us, Diana, is to see Jamie (and Co.) getting joy from some of the things we send in! Works for me, anyway! 😉
Was she peeved at being filmed, or is that the silly behavior coming out again?

She was okay being filmed. At the end, she was going towards Amanda in the hallway to get a closer look at her boots, I think.

Thanks, Diana, that’s good to hear (a little voice in my head was saying “poke incoming! run!”)

I love seeing Jamie with her personal library. She has so many varied interests. The contented scratch at the end is just the best. Jamie is amazing!

I loved watching her read the first couple of books upside down and backwards…Jamie will always know the end of the story, first!

I learn such a lot from these amazing Chimpanzees and after watching Jamie in her library engrossed in her very precious present moments reading and enjoying her day. Stop and smell the flowers or gaze across the hill. Just “be”, just like Jamie.

    I. Love. Jamie.

With all her brilliance, is any moment with Jamie “simple”?

Jaime is boss lady and Cy boy is super Alpha! They both like to read… hmmm very interesting!!
